Frequently Asked Questions

Julian Atkins of SalsaWarwick

I don't have a partner. Will I need to bring one?

No. The majority of people come on their own. We cannot guarantee that there will always be a partner for everyone but, because we alternate partners every few minutes, no one is left standing out for long.

What if I've never danced before?

No problem! We run a complete beginner's class every week.

Do I need to book?

No, you can just turn up. We operate a pay as you go system.

What should I wear?

Whatever you feel comfortable in as long as it won't limit your movement. There is no need to dress up!

We strongly suggest no trainers or thick rubber soled shoes for safety. There are lots of turns in salsa and any shoe that grips the floor is likely to put unnecessary pressure on the ligaments in the ankles and knees. Try and wear shoes with a smooth leather sole. If you really enjoy dancing and want to buy proper dance shoes, then we can advise you on ballroom shoes and dance trainers.

Can you offer me private lessons?

Yes we can, please contact Julian for further information.
